Meet Your New Co-Presidents
Starting July 1, LWVSP will have two new Co-Presidents, Cheryl Bailey (R) and Melissa Finnegan (L).
Read on to get to know them a little bit.
Cheryl Bailey joined the League of Women Voters of St. Paul in 2018 and has served on the Board and Program Committee for several years. Bailey is a retired oncologic surgeon, a long-time St. Paul resident, author, and amateur musician. She has always fought for women to be recognized for their achievements and paid for their work. Her involvement with the League increased her devotion to working for all of us to have good lives, ample opportunities, and peaceful homes. Educated, involved citizens are the basis for that ideal world. She lives in Union Park with her husband and disgracefully behaved dog Fern.
Melissa Finnegan Melissa is a public servant with over two decades of experience in many areas of public policy in Minnesota, including waste management, energy production, environmental issues, public health, and legislative procedure. In her spare time, Melissa enjoys crafting, singing, baking, reading, and working out. She lives on St. Paul's East Side with her husband, three children, and one very-old-but-sweet cat. Melissa believes deeply in the League's mission to encourage voting across all groups and to educate voters on issues that matter to them, in a nonpartisan way. Democracy matters and the more people we have engaging in the process, the more reflective our system will be of what the people really need and want.
