Meet three high school seniors who are already shaping civic life in Minnesota. Aurelia Haycraft and Ela Cantellano have prepared presentations on the election, supervised an all-school mock election, and hosted congresswoman Betty McCollum at Como High School. They’ll be joined by Averie Younge, Executive Director of Vote16MN, an organization working to extend school board voting rights to 16 and 17-year-olds in Minnesota. Together they’ll share what it takes to get young people engaged and why their voices matter. Come hear how youth are leading the conversation about democracy, and what the rest of us can learn from them.
